Chapter Thirteen: Assassin
Crimson had not been pleased to see Jinx returning without the bodies of those five cats she was so obsessed with. She’d shouted, yowled, struck and then stormed off, Frozengaze trailing after her with a smug grin scrawled across his muzzle.
That had been ages ago when the sun had been only just started to rise. Now it was near sunhigh and Crimson had yet to return. After their disappearance from the island Crimson had transported only the elite soldiers alongside her, Tornheart and Frozengaze, to a heavily wooded area just beyond the valley; but only after informing Jinx to hea

He’d seen the plan rapidly forming in Eaglestrike’s eyes as the PhoenixClan warrior glanced multiple times at the rushing water behind them. He’d nudged Rainpatch, “I think Eaglestrike’s planning to use the waterfall,” he’d whispered whislt Icepetal had been snarling at Jinx.
Rainpatch’s eyes had widened in surprise but the army had surged forwards before he could say anything. Littleflame was dragged under by Eaglestrike and Icepetal by Rainpatch, leaving Willowclaw to jump into the frigid river by himself.
At the time it had seemed like a

Chapter Eleven: Burn
The sky was a mix of orange and red, streaked with clouds of black smoke, reflecting the roaring inferno spreading across the valley. A dull roar thundered throughout the six territories as ravenous flames devoured everything in their path. Thick, black smoke clung to trees and crept through the flames to darken the entire valley into pitch blackness.
Her lungs burned as ash settled within them. Breathing was difficult in the thick smoke. It scraped down her throat like it had claws whenever she inhaled a shaky breath. She’d never experienced a fire before in her life, let alone one a

Chapter Ten: Spark
"We’ve got to get out of here.” Eaglestrike paced back and forth inside the prison den. His tail lashed like a whip every few heartbeats. All he could think about was Crimson returning soon and killing them all. The Clans last hope would be lost having not gotten further than the mountains.
“My idea still stands,” Willowclaw muttered. “There are five of us and three of them. I don’t see why we can’t just tear them apart?”
Littleflame meowed in protest, “but killing them is wrong, even if they are a little brain dead. The Warrior Code forb

It was very unlike Tornheart to let herself get captured by any Clan, let alone the filthiest, stupidest one. So when the news came from the cat watching over that Clan in particular that Tornheart had entered RogueClan territory along with four other cats and had yet to emerge, it had worried Crimson ever so slightly. She’d taught her right-paw cat how to kill in the blink of an eye so why hadn’t she either demanded her freedom or fought for it? Even more worrying was the fact that Tornheart had no soldiers flanking her, just those unknown four cats she’d entered RogueC

“Vile scum!”
“Traitorous foxheart!”
“Bloodthirsty maggot!”
“Just kill her!”
“Drown her in the mud!”
“Starve her!”
The insults and death threats thrown at Tornheart as she stood in the middle of the muddy, grassy camp stung the ears of the Chosen. After being ambushed and caught by RogueClan – no thanks to the final Chosen they had to find – they’d been unceremoniously marched through the boggy territory much to Icepetal’s fierce disgust. The fiery she-cat had spat, hissed, snarled and s

“She’s sick, isn’t she?” his voice was hollow and tinged with ice.
Her tortoiseshell jerked up in surprise as she twisted her head to look at the large silhouette blocking the faint sunlight from entering her den. Sighing she looked back down at the sweaty, heaving, ginger flanks of a very sickly she-cat. Shifting her paws to the ginger she-cat’s forehead she could feel the heat radiating from her.
“Yes, she’s very sick. The whitecough has intensified considerably whilst we were at the gathering last night. It would not surprise me if

If she strained her ears she could make out the chattering coming from the gathered Clans as they mingled on the island in the soft rays of a dawning sun. Being able to hear them made her feel a little safer as she trailed cautiously after the supposedly ‘missing’ PhoenixClan tom. Her skin warmed under her fur as her thoughts drifted back a little. He’d said her eyes were pretty. No one had ever said her eyes were pretty. If anyone ever mentioned her looks it was only to point out the similarities between her and her mother. She couldn’t really see how they looked t

The arguing had ceased since Eaglestrike joined them. His kind-hearted yet strong presence seemed to create a bubble of peace around the small group. It appeared obvious to Tornheart that he was destined to lead the Chosen on their dark journey but he refused to believe it. Was there perhaps a reason for his refusal to lead? She shook her head, annoyed at how mysterious the PhoenixClan warrior was. All any of the Chosen knew about him was that he was viciously loyal to his Clan to the point of violence if someone dared insult PhoenixClan around him. But the others had failed to notice w

Another groan sounded from the white-pelted she-cat as she shook out her fur spraying gritty sand everywhere. Her eyes were narrowed against the sharp wind that flung sand at them, stinging their skin through their fur. “How are we supposed to find the Chosen without being found by PhoenixClan first? I highly doubt they’d be too pleased to discover a traitor travelling with a WaveClan warrior and a SnowClan warrior,” she grumbled.
“You don’t enjoy the feeling of sand underneath your paws?” Rainpatch gasped in mock surprise.
Icepetal glowered a
